How To Make a Fleece No-Sew Tie Blanket
I love this project. Tie blankets are an easy starter project, and they don't require sewing.
How much fabric do you need? Fleece is about 60 inches wide. You will need a length of about 48 inches (1.33 yards) for a child, or 2 yards for an adult. The finished blanket will be about 4-6 inches smaller than the starting dimensions, because of the knots.
With one piece of fleece:
Lay out the fabric flat.
Cut a 5-inch square from each corner.
Cut fringe 1-inch wide and 5-inches deep on all sides.
Tie a knot in each fringe
Do this all the way around the blanket, being careful not to stretch the fabric.
Withtwo pieces of fleece (usually one piece is a print, and one is a solid):
Layer the two pieces of fabric, wrong sides together.Do any trimming necessary so the two pieces are the same size.
Cut a 5-inch square from each corner, cutting through both layers of fleece.
Cut fringe 1-inch wide and 5-inches deep on all sides, cutting through both layers of fleece.
Using an overhand knot, tie the top and bottom fringe together.
Do this all the way around the blanket, being careful not to stretch the fabric.
