Ok, you are in the market for an FTA receiver and are looking at a Viewsat Ultra VS2000. Here is where you have to be careful! There are many so called "clones" out there that have the Viewsat name on them, they look very much like the real thing but they are not genuine Viewsat Ultras. Be sure you buy from an authorized Viewsat dealer. All Viewsat dealers have their own unique Dealer number and that number should be displayed in their auction. This logo should be a clickable logo that takes you to the official Viewsat website. Visit the ViewsatUSA web site and make sure the number displayed on the dealers site corresponds to that dealer's name. Just because a logo is displayed on the auction does not mean the seller is an authorized dealer. Anyone can cut and paste a logo onto their auction.
1) Back extra screw on RCA, geponent connectors (pic 002)
2) Power supply is a green or yellow board on a clone (pic 001) and is a white board on original.(pic 002).
3) Power connector on main board (pic 001)
4) Extra IC and crystal (pic 001)
5) No heat sink on cpu (pic 001)
The third picture is an original authentic Viewsat Ultra.Remember, be sure the logo is clickable and takes you to the official Viewsat
website and that you verify their dealer number is authentic. You will be surprised how many sellers DO NOT have a Viewsat Dealer number and logo on their auction!!!Be cautious, may you have many pleasant experiences on okay and enjoy the FTA hobby!
