We all have had this every once in a while....you see some awesome decorated buttons for scrapbooking, but they are just way too expensive, however, they wouldgive just the perfect touch to your pages. Do we buy these buttons or do we pass on and just try to forget about them?
I always decided that these special buttons just were not worth the price, but now have found a great way to use just what I need....
At a crafting and fabric store I bought a whole bunch of cheap clear buttons and now decorate these buttons exactly how I like them. ince they are clear they can be matched up with almost anything.... I especially love to match my buttons with the same paper patterns that I use for my piecings and it is just way easy to do it. Either punch out a piece of paper in the size of the button or cut it out with a pair of sharp scissors. Put glue on the patterned side and stick the patterned side to the bottom of a clear button...
What also works great is Mod Podge to adhere the paper to the buttons, this way the paper side is protected also. The print pattern shines through the button top and it looks like this button was especially made for you (which in fact it was, for just a fraction of the price!!!)
